Why a routine helps
Steel buildings last a long time when water is kept out and small paint damage is touched up early. Most care takes an hour or two, a few times a year.
The schedule
| When | Check | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Air-conditioner filters; drains and traps; battery and inverter status on the display | Efficiency and early warnings |
| Every 3 months | Clean solar panels in dusty areas; clear gutters and roof drainage | Keeps output up and water moving |
| Every 6 months | Sealant around windows, doors and roof penetrations; signs of condensation inside | Stops leaks before they start |
| Every year | Exterior paint for scratches and rust spots; base frame and corner castings; tie-downs; levelness | Protects the steel and the structure |
| After storms | Roof, panels and fixings; drainage around the foundation | Catches damage early |
Touching up paint and rust
- Clean the area and remove loose rust with a wire brush.
- Apply a rust-inhibiting primer.
- Finish with paint matched to your colour. Ask us for the colour reference.
Coastal and humid sites
- Rinse salt off the exterior and solar panels more often.
- Check fixings and exposed steel at least twice a year.
- Keep ventilation open to avoid condensation inside.
Solar and battery care
- Keep the power room ventilated and free of dust.
- Note battery state of charge and any warnings on the inverter display.
- Do not open battery or inverter enclosures; contact a qualified electrician or our support team.
